Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Mark Frandsen joined the faculty of South Plains College in 2020 as an instructor of music theory and low strings (acoustic and electric bass). Prior to his arrival at SPC, he served almost 21 years as a military musician in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force while stationed across the states and overseas. He spent six years stationed in Germany and four years in Japan while on active duty. He has traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East playing music for a diverse group of audiences. He is still active as a musician across the South Plains area.

Dr. Frandsen earned his Ph.D. in Fine Arts (Music Theory) from Texas Tech University, Master of Music from Austin Peay State University, and Bachelor of Music from Utah State University.
